About Us
Welcome to Folkestone and Hythe District Scouts
We are the Folkestone and Hythe District Scouts, we are a thriving community made up of 9 different Scout groups based in South East Kent.
We are proud to have 9 Scout groups, 6 Explorer units and 2 Squirrel groups across our district, with members from all walks of life, having fun, adventure and friendships every week of the year!
What can Scouting do for me?
Everyone benefits hugely from the adventures, fun and friendships they experience in scouting. It can help develop your social skills and independence, and gives our members access to some amazing and memorable opportunities.
As a Scout, you get to explore the big outdoors and travel to new places and try new things. Not many people know about the stars at night, how to sail a dinghy or make a sausage stew on a campfire, but you soon will! Scouting helps you learn lots of new and amazing skills – and you get to earn badges and rewards along the way.
Can everyone join Scouting?
We are proud to welcome young people into Scouting from 4 years old upwards, and from any background, faith or religion.
If adults (18yrs +) are saddened because they never got the opportunity to do these activities, then why not do it now? become a volunteer and take part in everything that the young people do! If volunteering is not for you, then why not join Network? Network brings scouting to adults 18-25 years of age.
As long as you’re over 18, you can help out as an adult volunteer in Scouting. There is no upper age limit for adult volunteers. If you are aged between 14 to 18, there is the option of becoming a Young Leader.
